When Richard Armitage moved on from North & South to star in the TV Series Robin Hood as Guy of Gisborne, I made a point of watching it. I loved the way he portrayed Guy’s story, particularly concerning his relationship with Marian. Of course, she was always going to choose Robin over Guy, but I remember thinking one day “what if she had married Guy instead?”. And from that, so the idea for a video – my first ever attempt at an a/u storyline video – was borne.
This is what I wrote in the blurb on You Tube for it:
I have effectively turned the legend on its head in that Guy and Marian have married. Only once they’re married does Guy find out that Marian is the Nightwatchman. He is haunted by the memory of the day he found out and torn by the hurt he feels at what she has done and his love for her. At the same time, Marian, in danger of losing everything, realises that she loves Guy. Can they reconcile and put the past behind them?
